When you visit a webpage, when youre lookingat the actual content? What you accompany on the screen is your browsermaking decisions based on what’s in your code. And what is happening in all this code? Well, the browser expends it to render the webpage. It utilizes this information to display what everyoneends up looking when they load up the page. And sometimes the most efficient way to get a feel forthis type of interaction is to start from a website you already know. Most browsers will let you go in and inspectthe system for yourself. And when you modify that system? When you go in and make a change? The material in your browser mutates as well. Its tremendously fun to experiment that relationshipbetween the code and the made content, but of course, when you freshen, all yourhard work goes away, because you’re only making the convert locally. Youre only reforming it in your browser.A MacBook Pro, a Surface Studio, an iPhone, an Atari 2600, an iPad…..What time four members of these have in common? They use this type of code to render web content. And so does every modern computing device. And with this type of code, there are twoprimary components that we’re going to start with: HTML& CSS. HTML is generally used for content: it tellsthe browser whats on the page. Chiefs, sections, associations, personas youname it. And back in the day, we used to style allthis content by hand all sorts of simple things, like if we wanted to change our fontfamily, or dye, or size we used to style it inline inside the HTML.And if we wanted other factors to look likethatif we wanted something else to have those same owneds, we’d have to copy thatcode again. And again. And again. And you want to make a change or compute somethingelse? Well now you have to go through each inlinestyle by hand…not highly efficient. Enter CSS: the greatest invention in the historyof the world, except for any invention that might be better. Like the pedal. CSS takes all that styling intelligence colorsand borders and size, positioning, typography, much better it moves all that info intoa separate style sheet. That method, any of those ingredients in our HTML? They can call that information elementscan reference those stylesany time. Make a change to that vogue? It affects any constituent thats exercising thatstyle. So you have your HTML: everything dealingwith contentand, you have CSS, which we can use to style that material. And the relationship between HTML& CSS isthat simple.And back in the early days of the web, weonly had to know the most basic calls and attributes, because thats all the web was back then. Time went by, and the internet actually startedgrowing up. Designs converted, and the direction we interactedwith the web became more personal. And as all that happened, it became necessaryto retool. As the possibilities increased for what wecould build as decorators and makes, so did the complexity of everything we had tomanage behind the scenes.Now what does this have to do with Webflow? And why all this talk aboutHTML& CSS? And why are we enveloping them? Well, because HTML& CSS serve as the primaryfoundation. This is the starting point from which we canbuild anything. What we’re embracing is a way to move a lotfaster and more efficiently. By visually creating and manipulating thiscontent, we can instantly treated with our HTML and CSS and everything else.And even if were proficient in all theseareas, were not having to spend so much of our time. Instead of sketching and outputting examples, and going through step, after step, after step in the development process, were outputtingproduction-ready code. So you can take even the craziest ideas andmake them a reality ..
